Towson Town Center Will Get New Stores By Fall
TOWSON, Md. (WJZ) -- Towson Town Center is gearing up to open several new high-end stores by the fall. What's been a secret is now revealed as the mall unveiled the new stores.
Rochelle Ritchie has more.
It's a celebration at Towson Town Center as they gear up to show the front of four new stores opening this fall. The parade moved from one store to the next as the new merchants were revealed on what could be considered Millionaire's Row of the mall.
From Lilly Pulitzer, Marble Brain Store, L'Occitane and Sur la Table---all four are coming soon and shoppers are already anticipating the first sale.
"Well, I really like the Lilly Pulitzer store opening up. I love their clothes; I like the preppy look," said one shopper.
Towson Town Center Senior General Manager Charles Crerand says the stores chosen to open on the wing are similar to other stores around it, like Crate and Barrel and Louis Vuitton.
"The Lilly Pulitzer shopper, which is a higher end fashion shopper, is probably shopping at Louis Vuitton and Tiffany's," he said.
Besides being a great place to shop, the opening of several new stores present an opportunity for the unemployed.
"It helps provide more tax income to the area," said County Councilman Todd Huff.
Huff says with a tight budget for next year, new business is good business.
"Any time we can try to provide jobs in the right direction," Huff said.
About 100 jobs could be available when the stores open by the end of the summer. The mall is also relocating and expanding White House Black Market in the Crate and Barrel wing.
