Towson Rolls Over The Citadel 84-59
TOWSON, Md. (AP) -- Four McGlynn had 19 points, including four 3-pointers, as Towson built a 14-point halftime lead then rolled over The Citadel in the second half en route to an 84-59 victory Saturday afternoon.
The Tigers had four starters hit for more than 13 points and was able to empty their bench in the late-going due to the margin of difference in the score.
Towson (5-2) ran out to a 12-3 lead backed by a McGlynn 3-pointer and a pair of Jerrelle Benimon layups, the second of which was followed by a made free throw. The Citadel (3-5) called time out and went on a 6-point run, but Towson soon exerted their dominance, scoring 13 of the half's final 14 points.
The Tigers then scored the first 11 points of the second half and midway through the stanza hit on 4 of 5 3-point attempts to run away from the Bulldogs.
