Towson Overwhelms Central Pennsylvania 102-72
TOWSON, Md. (AP) -- Jerrelle Benimon had a triple-double - the first in school history - to lead Towson to an overwhelming 102-72 victory over Central Pennsylvania Tuesday night.
Benimon, who had 17 points, 18 rebounds and 10 assists, led Towson (7-4) to its eleventh-straight home victory over two seasons. Timajh Parker-Rivera had a career-high 10 points on 5-for-5 shooting. Rafriel Guthrie contributed 17 points and Marcus Damas 12.
Towson held a 38-36 lead with 3:34 remaining in the first period and was up only 47-41 at the half.
Central Pennsylvania (6-4) was still only down by 69-58 midway of the final period. However the Tigers ran off with the game after that.
The Tigers hit 55.8 percent of their field goals, compared to 35.8 for the Knights. Towson also won the rebound battle, pulling down 59 compared to Central Penn's 34.
Devon Dorsey led the Knights with 20 points and 10 rebounds.
