Towson Man Gets 15 Years For Drug And Firearm Possession
TOWSON, Md. (WJZ) -- A Towson man is sentenced to 15 years in prison for drug and firearm possession.
Muklengi Wilson, 41, must also serve five years of supervised release for possessing with intent to distribute crack, being a felon in possession of a firearm and attempting to tamper with a witness.
According to his plea agreement, officers saw Wilson engage in several hand-to-hand drug transactions at the intersection of E. Lafayette and N. Montford avenues in Baltimore.
Wilson attempted to flee when officers approached him, throwing more than 20 zip lock baggies of crack cocaine to the ground.
After his arrest, Wilson told the officers that there was a gun in the basement of his girlfriend's house. He also drew a map showing the location of the gun.
Officers found the gun loaded with one round of ammunition in the chamber and three rounds in the magazine. The hammer of the gun was cocked.
Wilson had previously been convicted of a felony and was prohibited from possessing a gun or ammunition.
In addition, Wilson made repeated telephone calls to a witness from jail, encouraging them to give false testimony in court. The calls were recorded on jailhouse telephone systems.
Wilson also admitted that he shot a man called "Love." Although the vehicle crashed, the victim was able to drive away.
