Towson baseball head coach Mike Gottlieb joined the the Norris and Davis show to talked about his team and their upcoming game against Florida Atlantic in the NCAA tournament. After their program was almost cut from the school this past year, the squad has made a remarkable late season run to reach NCAA regional tournament.

Bob asked Gottlieb about how he separates being happy at being at the NCAA tournament to actually trying to win the games to come. The coach remarked on the teams positive attitude. The team is not thinking about the programs fundraising and are looking to the future and trying to win ball games.
Steve asked the coach about the concussions that were suffered by some of the players in the celebration after clinching the conference win. Gottlieb said that his center fielder will not be available in today's game because he got kicked in the head in the celebration. A hand shake or high five is no longer good enough in college baseball.The dog pile can be a dangerous thing.
In conclusion, Steve asked about the programs outlook in terms of fundraising. Gottlieb said that the president remarked that the next two years are guaranteed but that the universities athletic department needs to step up to get a third year guaranteed as well. The coach said that the news is positive and that he felt good about the presidents response. It is a budget issue rather than a tittle nine issue. Gottlieb said that his relationship with the athletic department is solid and that they have agreed that they must be on the same page about supporting the program and making sure it remains in the future.
