Thousands Ring In 2013 At The Inner Harbor
BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Thousands of people ring in 2013 at the Inner Harbor in Baltimore.
Mike Schuh reports from the music to the food to the fireworks, 2013 started off with a bang.
Baltimore's Inner Harbor was the place to be on New Year's Eve.
"I just love Baltimore because it's very family-oriented and there's always something we can bring the kids to," said one attendee.
Many people were from out-of-town.
"It seems like the perfect place. We have rooms at the Sheraton, so we don't have to drive," said one guest.
There was no shortage of goofy hats and some came to make some money.
"This is the thing now. For everybody to enjoy themselves for the New Year and bring it in right," said one excited attendee.
The one thing everyone in the crows had in common: they all wanted to have a good time.
And they did. The night was a success. The fireworks went off without a hitch.
WJZ and the Baltimore Orioles were sponsors of the New Year's fireworks at the Inner Harbor.
Baltimore City Police did increase security at the Inner Harbor this year. Officers stood in groups of as many as six. Maryland state troopers were there, too, along with the Maryland Transportation Authority.
