Third Suspect Accused In Running Lutherville Pill Mill Turns Herself In
LUTHERVILLE, Md. (WJZ)--A Lutherville clinic is accused of selling powerful painkillers and narcotics without legal prescriptions. Now, a third suspect has turned herself in to Baltimore County police.
Alina Margulis, 45, of Brooklyn, N.Y., has been indicted by a Baltimore County grand jury on charges of conspiracy to distribute Schedule II narcotics. She appeared before a Baltimore County Circuit Court judge Monday morning.
Bail was set at $50,000 cash, and the judge ordered her to surrender her passport and remain within the U.S.
Last week, about 25 county narcotics officers and U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration agents executed federal search warrants at the Healthy Life clinic in the 1100-block of York Road in Lutherville.
Federal investigators say Michael Reznikov, 51, and Gerald Wiseberg, 78, are the cash and brains behind the massive pill mill. They were arrested last week.
These three suspects, as well as any others who may be charged in connection with this case, may face federal charges as well Maryland charges.
The joint Baltimore County/DEA investigation dates back to April 2011.
No additional arrests are expected at this time, but the investigation will continue.
