Their Bags Are Packed: Ravens Ready For New Orleans After Final Home Practice
OWINGS MILLS, Md. (WJZ) -- This time next week we'll be 24 hours away from the Super Bowl. And fans are getting amped up and ready to cheer the Baltimore Ravens as they take on the San Francisco 49ers.
Sports Director Mark Viviano has a look at the final home practice and how the team is preparing.
The Ravens wrap up the Super Bowl bye week, but for them it's been a work week. Extra work, for an extra special occasion.
It was the final practice for the team in Owings Mills. The rest of their workout will be at the Super Bowl site in New Orleans. Bags are packed and the excitement builds with the realization they are headed to the ultimate game.
Viviano: "It's kind of big, isn't it?"
"Yeah, it's really big. It's the pinnacle of our profession, our sport that we love and we played since we were little kids. I was around my little brother and my family and I said 'I used to catch balls in the park all the time, catch this now I'm going to the Super Bowl,'" said Ravens tight end Ed Dickson.
"Certainly. Where else would you rather be than preparing for a Super Bowl? Yeah, you have to drink that in a little bit. We told them that 'the stage is big, but the field is small,'" said Ravens head coach John Harbaugh.
"It's rare and as a player I've watched 14 Super Bowls, not played in them, so I know first-hand how hard it is to get to this point," said Ravens center Matt Birk.
Only a handful of Ravens have any Super Bowl experience, but by next Sunday they'll all have Super Bowl on their resume.
