The Sun Names Sen. Mikulski 'Marylander Of The Year'

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Our media partner, The Baltimore Sun, announces its 2015 Marylander of the Year -- Senator Barbara Mikulski.

The 79-year-old was elected to the Baltimore City Council in 1971.

Five years later, she was elected to the House of Representatives.

This year, President Obama presented her with the Medal of Freedom.

The Sun says she deserves this year's award for fighting tirelessly for the interests of her community and for her unmatched dedication.
