The Norris & Davis Show Best Of - Week Of April 16th
This week's edition of the Norris & Davis Show includes interviews with two members of the Comcast Sportsnet team. Craig Laughlin color commentator for the Washington Capitals previewed the Caps series against the Flyers, and Tony Massenburg talked about the NBA Playoffs and Kobe Bryant's last game.
CRAIG LAUGHLIN
Craig started off by talking about whether he is worried about the way the Caps played down the stretch saying "I don't think so, we saw the game against St. Louis which I think was one of their best games all year...I have no worries at all that the Capitals will prevail." When asked if the passing of Flyers owner Ed Snider ignites a spark for the Flyers Craig said "I think it does, it's going to give them a little boost...in the end it still comes down to the best team, from the offense to the defense to the goal-tending it all favors the Caps."
As for a possible second round opponent for the Caps and who he likes in the Rangers vs Penguins series Craig said "I still like Penguins, they're on a roll right now and it's going to be very tough for them not to roll...they're coming in on a high, Crosby is playing like the world class player he is." When asked about the other Eastern Conference bracket and who he likes Craig said "I've always liked Tampa but I'm not sure how their injuries are going to effect them...I'm not really a fan of any of the other teams, Florida maybe if they play their stingy style." As for opponents he would worry about for the Caps Craig said "to me the East is the Caps I'm not really worried about anyone else, to me the challenge is the bigger teams in the West."
Craig also gave his pick for the series and he believes the Caps will prevail over the Flyers in five games.
TONY MASSENBURG
Tony started off by talking about which he watched between Kobe's final game and the Warriors making history saying "I flipped back and forth between those two games...so much history being made last night, no one thought that Laker game would be so exciting." As for whether or not any team can beat the Warriors in a playoff series Tony said "right now they look really good...the biggest challenge will probably come from within the conference from the Spurs."
When asked about how special the career of Kobe Bryant has been Tony said "when you look at the way he has been able to remain effective throughout his career...anybody who plays 20 years had the ability to grow and improve, we watched him get better in each area of the game."
Tony also talked about the Wizards disappointing season and where the team goes next now that Head Coach Randy Wittman has been fired.
