The Norris And Davis Best Of - Week Of September 25th

This week's edition of the Norris and Davis Best Of includes an interview with Orioles Manager Buck Showalter about facing the Nationals and throwing at batters, and former All Pro linebacker London Fletcher on what is wrong with the Ravens.

BUCK SHOWALTER

Buck joined Ed and Steve to talk about the O's vs Nationals game tonight, and the upcoming Trick Or Trot 5k to benefit Kids Peace on Saturday October 31st.

Steve asked Buck about Nationals closer Jonathon Papelbon throwing at Manny Machado in last nights game. Buck wasn't surprised that it happened saying, "I don't think, if you consider the source of where it came from, it wouldn't surprise you. When something happens on the field you want to watch the players to see how they react. I try not to take the joy out of the game for them."

Ed asked Buck whether baseball will try to legislate pitchers intentionally throwing at batters out of the game. Buck doesn't believe this will happen saying, "whats crazy about it is there are so many contradictions. If the other team does something wrong we get warned. I don't think that will be legislated out of the game."

Buck went on to discuss whether young players are coached to know when certain actions, such as retaliations, are acceptable and when they are not, as well as the role that veteran players play in that process. Buck finished up by discussing the 6th annual Trick or Trot 5k.

LONDON FLETCHER

London joined Ed and Steve to talk about this week's NFL action which starts tonight with Giants vs Redskins on CBS and NFL Network.

Steve asked London about his take on the Ravens struggles this season. London pointed to the lack of weapons in the passing game as playing a huge role in their slow start saying, "they need a guy to help take some pressure off of Steve Smith Sr. and give Joe Flacco another weapon to throw to. They really didn't do enough to help improve this offense to compete for a division title against the Steelers and Bengals."

Ed asked London about the struggles of the Eagles running game to start the year. London is very surprised to see the Eagles not be able to establish the run saying, "the Eagles just aren't executing. This offense is more designed to run the football, so the fact that they can't is baffling to me. It tells me they aren't getting enough of a push up front with their offensive line."

London went on to discuss his thoughts on Robert Griffin III's future in the NFL and the perceptions that he is not liked in the locker room, as well as his thoughts on Cam Chancellor's holdout and the early season struggles of Colts quarterback Andrew Luck.
