The New Year Rings In Promises And Resolutions For Many
BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- It is a new year tradition. As we count down to the start of 2013, many people are making resolutions.
But it turns out, some promises are easier to keep than others.
Tim Williams reports.
2012 not only came in with a bang, but with the promise of new habits, resolutions and excitement. Now with 2013 looming, the upcoming year promises to be no different.
Tim: "What was last year's resolution?"
Noel: "To lose weight."
Tim: "Did you keep it?"
Noel: "I did! I did pretty good. I lost about 20 pounds."
Tim: "Steve, New Year's resolution for 2013?"
Steve: "To spend as much time with family and friends as possible."
Tim: "Does that include Belle?"
Steve: "Yes."
There are some like Helena.
"My resolution is to trust myself more, to believe in the relationships that I have and to not doubt myself so much," she said.
There are others like Meredith.
"My resolution for the year is I've written a novel and it needs to get published. And my other resolution is to calm down," she said.
And then there's Jim.
Tim: "Jim, any resolutions for 2013?"
Jim: "Not one. Because I'm just a perfect, perfect person. That's it, and I think there's no reason to change."
And from year to year, that about sums it up for many.
