Baltimore ministry hosts Thanksgiving giveaway, providing free meals for 1,000 families

BALTIMORE -- The Baltimore Police Department joined EP International Ministries for their 8th annual 'The GIVE Fest', providing meals to 1,000 Baltimore City residents.  

This annual event provides everything needed for Thanksgiving dinner to families who otherwise would not be able to afford a healthy meal on this major holiday. 

"Families don't have to make the decision on whether to pay their light bill. Or seniors, in terms of purchasing their prescriptions or purchasing their turkey and all the trimmings. That stuff is expensive so, we've kind of taken that off their plate," said EP International Ministries pastor, Keisha Jones. 

The event promotes positive change in the lives of middle school and high school-aged youth who are in need of community service-learning hours. It also provides fresh produce to families who live in food deserts to increase healthy food alternatives.
