A round up of this week's Top 5 sports stories.
Number 5: NBA Signings
This past week both Steve Nash and Ray Allen signed with different teams, leaving behind teams they have spent the past several years playing for. Steve Nash left the Phoenix Suns to sign with the Los Angeles Lakers, and Ray Allen left the Boston Celtics to sign with the Miami Heat.
Number 4: MLB All-Star Game
The MLB All-Star game took place this past Tuesday in Kansas City. For the third year in a row the National League beat the American League to secure home field advantage in the World Series. The final score was 8-0
Number 3: Unruly Fans In Kansas City
This past week Kansas City fans have heckled and booed professional sport athletes. New York Yankee Robinson Cano was consistently booed during the Home-Run Derby in Kansas City on Monday. He also claimed that Kansas City fans harassed his family in the stands. Over the weekend Kansas City Chief's Quarterback Matt Cassel was booed by fans while playing in a charity golf tournament.
Number 2: Roger Fedeher Wins Wimbledon
On Sunday, Roger Fedeher won the Wimbledon after beating Andy Murray in 4 sets. This is Federher's 7th Wimbledon win, which ties the record for the most Wimbledon wins.
Number 1: The Freeh Report
On Thursday, Federal Judge and Former Director of the FBI Louis Freeh, released is report on how Penn State acted surrounding child abuse by Jerry Sandusky. Freeh said "Our most saddening and sobering finding is the total disregard for the safety and welfare of Sandusky's child victims by the most senior leaders at Penn State. The most powerful men at Penn State failed to take any steps for 14 years to protect the children who Sandusky victimized. Messrs. Spanier, Schultz, Paterno and Curley never demonstrated, through actions or words, any concern for the safety and well-being of Sandusky's victims until after Sandusky's arrest."
