The Baltimore Ravens Select...
NFL analyst Dan Shonka of OurLads.com joined The Norris & Davis Show on Baltimore's 105-7 THE FAN to discuss the upcoming NFL Draft. Shonka, a former NFL scout, was asked who he would advise Colts owner Jim Irsay to select with the first pick April 26.
"It's not that hard of a decision. Andrew Luck is the guy that we've studied for the last three years. He is just a phenomenal, classic NFL quarterback. RG3? A little different, of course, athletically. Very smart guy. Sharp young man we think will be an outstanding quarterback. You got a pair to draw at the top. We're going to take that 'ace' at number 1: Andrew Luck," Shonka responded.
OurLads.com predicts that, with the 29th overall pick, The Ravens will choose center/guard Peter Konz from Wisconsin. Shonka added, "Konz is the best center in this draft. Actually, he can play anywhere along the line of scrimmage because he's got good size at 6'5" 305lbs. Very smart guy."
Most Ravens fans are hoping the team will try to bolster the offensive line with their first pick. But Ravens GM Ozzie Newsome usually takes "best pick available at the time" of selection. Shonka seems to agree with both fans and front office, "With Birk getting older now…I think a guy like Konz will fit in very well if he's available."
