Thanksgiving At The Oregon Grille

For an elegant, delicious Thanksgiving dinner, make a reservation at Hunt Valley's Oregon Grille. The award-winning restaurant is open from 1 to 8 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 24 and the Oregon Grille will accept reservations until 7:45 p.m.

With three fireplaces and music serenading you from the grand piano, the Oregon Grille welcomes you with a warm, beautiful way to celebrate Thanksgiving.

"We feel honored that people select The Oregon Grille when it matters most," said the Oregon Grille's owner, Ted Bauer.

For the holiday, a Thanksgiving special is offered for $47 per person in addition to the regular menu. The Oregon Grille will serve you a traditional Thanksgiving turkey dinner with your choice of butternut squash bisque or beef barley soup, an entrée of turkey, with all the trimmings: dressing, pearl onions, whipped potatoes, yams, broccoli and cranberry. You have a choice of pumpkin cheesecake or pecan pie for dessert.

The Oregon Grille opened in 1997 in a building that dates back to the 1700s when the Price family built it as their home on land that was rich with limestone and iron ore: Oregon Ridge. Mining and iron smelting were the legacy of this part of Baltimore County. The Oregon Branch, a hot – last furnace was patented here in 1720. In the 1800s the building became a general store. The Oregon Grille's building had also been a post office and an office for the quarry swimming concession for the Baltimore County Department of Recreation and Parks.

For those who want to forgo the turkey on Thanksgiving, the Oregon Grille will also serve items from its regular menu. The restaurant is noted for its steak and seafood, and the sirloin strip and steak au poivre with crushed black pepper and cognac demi-glace are market priced as is the Oregon Grille's surf and turf, and eight ounce lobster tail & petite filet mignon. The pan fried rockfish with crab hash and Delmarva salsa is $36. The free range Colorado lamb rack is served with baby squash, fingerling potatoes, merguez sausage, mint puree and thyme jus for $42. The Oregon Grille's jumbo lump crab cakes come with tartar sauce and spicy fruit salsa for $36. There is a vegetarian dinner, a breast of duck or chicken, shrimp, halibut, pork chops; the menu is extensive.Located amongst Maryland's most pristine horse farms, the Oregon Grille has hunting prints and riding silks hanging on the walls of the main dining room. Two of Maryland's most prestigious steeplechase races, the Maryland Hunt Cup and the Shawan Downs Legacy Chase, take place nearby. The restaurant features deep leather booths, mahogany walls and a granite bar. Jockeys line the entrance path with lanterns that light the way.
