Texas Gets Minor Leaguer To Wrap Up Teagarden Deal
DALLAS (AP) -- The Rangers have acquired minor league infielder Greg Miclat from Baltimore to complete a trade that sent catcher Taylor Teagarden to the Orioles.
Texas announced the completion of the deal Thursday, the last day of baseball's winter meetings and a week after Teagarden was traded to Baltimore.
In exchange, the Rangers got minor league right-hander Randy Henry and a player to be named, which became the switch-hitting Miclat.
The 24-year-old Miclat hit .280 with two home runs and 24 RBIs in 120 games with Double-A Bowie last season. He was placed on the roster of Double-A Frisco and is not on the Rangers' 40-man roster.
Texas also Thursday selected three players in the Rule 5 draft -- left-hander Fabian Williamson, outfielder Efrain Nunez and infielder Alex Buchholz.
