Teen Pleads Guilty To Murder In Metro Stabbing
WASHINGTON (AP) -- A Maryland teenager has pleaded guilty to first-degree murder while armed in the stabbing of another youth at a Metro station in northwest Washington.
Chavez Myers, 18, of District Heights entered the plea Wednesday in Superior Court. If the judge accepts the plea bargain, Myers will be sentenced to 30 years in prison on Dec. 13.
Prosecutors say Myers and several other youths attacked and robbed 18-year-old Olijawon Griffin on Nov. 17. Griffin was robbed of an iPhone and a jacket.
Authorities say Griffin was stabbed after he confronted the teens he believed had robbed him at the Metro station, including one who was wearing his jacket.
