Teen Gets 7 Years For Shooting Friend Over Video Game
FREDERICK, Md. (AP) -- An 18-year-old Frederick man is starting a seven-year prison term for shooting a 16-year-old friend who interrupted his video game.
The Frederick News-Post reports that Dylan Gray was sentenced Thursday after pleading guilty to first-degree assault.
Gray told police the victim knocked his door while Gray and some friends were playing video games inside. When no one answered the knock, the victim knocked on the windows.
Gray told investigators he became annoyed and grabbed a .32-caliber handgun that he thought was not loaded. He says he went to the front door, cocked the gun and shot his friend in the chest.
Gray apologized to the victim in court.
Another youth has admitted in juvenile court that he brought the gun to Gray's home and hid it after the shooting.
