Teen Charged With Carjacking Police Officer's Car

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Police say a teenager has been arrested after trying to steal a police officer's car with the officer's 9-year-old daughter inside.

Police arrested Demetrice Littles, 19, on Saturday. Prince George's County police say Littles broke into the car parked in the 5000-block of Vienna Drive in Clinton, Md. at about 8 a.m. Friday. The girl managed to get out of the car, and the officer shot at Littles.

Littles fled and was arrested Saturday after he sought treatment at a hospital for a gunshot wound. He is charged with first-degree assault, kidnapping, auto theft and other charges.

Court records did not list an attorney for Littles. Court records show he is from Hyattsville.
