Teen Charged In Olney Shooting
OLNEY, Md. (AP) -- A 17-year-old has been charged as an adult with shooting another male inside a car in Olney.
Montgomery County police say Daniel Paynter, 17, of Olney was arrested Tuesday after he arrived at a police station to provide information. He had already been identified as a suspect.
The shooting occurred around 10:30 p.m. Monday. Police say Paynter was one of three males inside the car when the victim was shot. The victim is expected to survive. Police say they're not sure about the exact reason for the shooting, but it's believed to be drug-related.
Paynter is charged with attempted first-degree murder, armed robbery and other offenses and is being held without bond.
