Belcamp Teen Accused Of Killing Older Brother In Stabbing
BELCAMP, Md. (WJZ) — Police responded to a report of a stabbing in Harford County on Thursday.
Police said the 15-year-old brother is the one who called 911 after he allegedly stabbed his 18-year-old brother in the chest. Investigators believe the brothers were arguing before the deadly encounter.
Police crews were lined around the 1300 block of Jervis Square in Belcamp on Thursday.
When they arrived and found the victim, they immediately gave medical care until medics took the victim, identified as Gary Bernard Williams, of the same address as above, to the University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Medical Center.
He was later pronounced dead at the medical center.
Patrol deputies identified a 15-year-old boy as the suspect and took him into custody.
"When I came home today and saw this tape, I was like, 'Oh my God, what happened?'" said Michelle Cantler, a neighbor on the block.
Harford County Deputies said an argument broke out inside the home on Jervis Square and the 15-year-old stabbed his older brother in the upper body with a large kitchen knife.
"Everybody here is just shocked," said Jordan Carey, a friend in the neighborhood.
"Brothers and sisters, brothers and brothers, they get into fights and arguments, but for one to go to the measures of stabbing the other one on the chest with a knife is not something you see every day,"
Back in July, the Sheriff's Office said deputies were called to the home for the same suspect. He was admitted to a facility for a mental health evaluation.
Officials said there was also another call in 2013.
Leo Rollins, a neighbor said he went to school with both brothers. He said he had just spoken to Williams on the school bus, and not even ten minutes later, the house next door was surrounded by police.
"It's just like very surprising. He would have graduated this year," Rollins said.
The suspect is currently being interviewed with the Criminal Investigations Division, his charging is to be determined. They have not said if he will be charged as an adult.
This investigation is ongoing. No further information is available at this time.
