Shoppers are on high alert Saturday at the Towson Town Center after police say a man using a food court bathroom was robbed at knifepoint.
"I've got my son so it will definitely keep me aware of what's going on," said one shopper.
"We're being told there was an armed robbery here," said another.
Police swarmed the mall looking for the two suspects who allegedly pulled a gun out in the middle of the mall after the victim and a plainclothes security guard tried to stop one of the suspects from running away.
"To be honest, it kind of sucked. It's Christmas time and people do the most ridiculous stuff," said one shopper.
This latest armed robbery is part of a recent spike in crime in the Towson area. Earlier this month, a Towson student was stabbed multiple times in an area near campus. Police have made arrests in that case, but two other students were robbed just last weekend.
Baltimore County Police also nabbed the men they believe were behind nearly a dozen commercial robberies, four of which happened in Towson. As for this latest incident, shoppers say all you can do is not make yourself a target.
Police describe the suspects as two men between the ages of 18 and 20 years old. One was wearing a black baseball hat and a black polo jacket. The other was in a black leather jacket, dark jeans and a hoodie. If you have information, please call police.
The latest victim was not injured.
Towson Town Center is also equipped with more than 250 security cameras.
