Suspects In Anne Arundel Co. Credit Card Thefts Arrested
GAMBRILLS, Md. (WJZ) -- Two suspects are behind bars in Anne Arundel County--charged with theft and credit card fraud.
Police say Karen Steelman, 52, and Kenneth Harris, 53, used stolen credit cards to make thousands of dollars in fraudulent purchases.
The pair would allegedly target female shoppers at local grocery stores in the Gambrills area, distracting them and stealing their wallets.
Detectives found more than $50,000 of merchandise from the couple's home in Upper Marlboro.
Credit cards, IDs and two guns were also recovered.
Steelman and Harris are suspects in similar cases in Washington D.C., Virginia and North Carolina.
