Suspected Hit & Run Driver Calls Police After Hearing About Struck Pedestrian
BEL AIR, Md. (WJZ) – A 28-year-old woman was injured in a hit and run accident in Bel Air on Monday night. One day later, the alleged driver has contacted police.
Police say the driver of a 1997 light blue Lincoln Town Car called them Tuesday morning after hearing that Susan M. Gourgoulianis was struck.
Investigators from Bel Air barrack responded to the driver's residence. Police are not releasing the driver's name due to the potential of pending charges.
Investigators say prior to the hit and run, Gourgoulianis, of Darlington, was traveling in a vehicle with a family member. A verbal argument occurred and she was ordered out of the vehicle.
Gourgoulianis has since been released from the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center.
The investigation is ongoing.
