Suspect In Hillcrest Heights Slaying Arrested In N.C.
UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (AP) -- Prince George's County Police say a suspect in a Hillcrest Heights slaying has been arrested in North Carolina.
Officers say 23-year-old Joshua Jones of Landover was arrested Tuesday in Fayetteville, N.C. He is awaiting extradition to Maryland, where he will face first-degree murder charges in the death of 22-year-old Jerome Peters.
Police say Peters was caring for his young child at a relative's home in Hillcrest Heights on June 30 when the child's mother arrived along with Jones to pick up the child. Police say the two men argued, and Jones shot Peters.
