Suspect Arrested For Shooting 4-Year-Old Girl & Her Father
OVERLEA, Md. (WJZ)—Baltimore County Police have arrested a man they say targeted and shot a 23-year-old Baltimore man and his 4-year-old daughter.
Rasean Penix, 23, has been charged with two counts of attempted murder and related charges after police say he shot both victims Monday at around 8:30 p.m. while they were sitting in a vehicle at the intersection of Old Home and Meadow Roads.
Detectives say Penix was communicating with the victim on the phone and agreed to meet at the location. When the victim and his daughter arrived, Penix approached the vehicle and displayed a gun.
Penix demanded money from the victim, and then fired a shot, which struck the victim in the hand. The single round then struck the victim's daughter in the legs.
Both victims were driven by a family member to Franklin Square Hospital, where they were treated for non life-threatening injuries.
Penix was arrested Wednesday and is currently being held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center.
