Surveillance Photos Released In Arundel Mills Black Friday Attack
HANOVER, Md. (WJZ) -- Anne Arundel County police are one step closer to finding the people who allegedly robbed a 14-year-old boy on Black Friday at Arundel Mills Mall.
Rochelle Ritchie has more.
Police now have surveillance photos they're hoping will lead to an arrest.
The pictures show the persons of interest police say may be responsible for robbing a 14-year-old boy who came out of Bed, Bath & Beyond on Black Friday.
"That surveillance footage was provided to us around the time of this incident. We are looking at whether they are witnesses. We don't know. At this point, we are looking for them to help us with our investigation," said Justin Mulcahy, Anne Arundel County police.
The victim told police he was approached by five males who punched him and stole his belongings, including a jacket the teen was wearing the morning of the robbery. It's possibly worn by one of the people in the surveillance photos.
"Everyone trying to prey on anyone that's easy to rob; there are always people looking for victims," said one shopper.
News of the teen's robbery is putting shoppers on alert as Christmas approaches.
"I think it's pretty unfortunate what happened to the kid, but when I come out here, I feel pretty safe," said Anthony Woolford.
"It happens everywhere but I am always surprised to hear something like that," said Naomi Domack.
Police say it's a reminder you can never be too careful, especially during the holidays.
"Be aware of your surroundings. Don't make yourself a target I guess is the way to say it," said Mulcahy.
Police say the mall does provide extra security, as well as an escort service during the holidays.
If you recognize anyone in the surveillance video, you're asked to call Anne Arundel County Police.
