Suburban D.C. School Vandalism Probed As Hate Crime
BETHESDA, Md. (AP) -- Montgomery County police say they are investigating months of vandalism at a Bethesda school as hate crimes because of swastikas found painted outside the school.
Police say that between Oct. 15 and Jan. 13 fires were set, windows were broken and swastikas were spray painted outside the Washington Waldorf School.
The school is one of 200 nationwide that uses a teaching style based on the writings of Rudolf Steiner, an early 20th-century Austrian philosopher and teacher.
