Substitute Teacher Charged With More Sex Offenses
ROCKVILLE, Md. (AP) -- Montgomery County Police say more sex offense charges have been filed against a substitute teacher accused of sexual abuse of a minor.
Fifty-year-old Jose Pineda of Gaithersburg was charged Friday with three counts of third-degree sex offense and three counts of sexual abuse of a minor. Last month, Pineda was charged with one count of third-degree sex offense.
Pineda's lawyer did not immediately return a message seeking comment.
Police say Pineda had inappropriate contact with a student at Roberto Clemente Middle School in Germantown, which led to his arrest in October. Since then, authorities say, three more alleged victims came forward, including a former student at Forest Oak Middle School in Gaithersburg, who said Pineda touched her inappropriately in 2004.
