Students To Eat Chicken Wings For Cancer Research
BALTIMORE (AP) -- University of Maryland at Baltimore students will be gorging themselves on Buffalo-style chicken wings to raise money for cancer research.
The "Wing-A-Thon" event will be held Friday evening.
Teams of five students will try to eat as many wings as possible in 30 minutes. They'll raise money from sponsorships per wing eaten. Proceeds go to the Greenebaum Cancer Center at the University of Maryland Medical Center.
Participants ate more than 3,200 wings last year and raised $4,800. The goal this year is to exceed $5,000. The wings will be provided by Wingstop.
