Students Hurt When School Bus Is Rear-Ended
DELMAR, Md. (AP) -- The Wicomico County Sheriff's Office says several children were hurt when their school bus was struck from behind.
It happened Monday about 3:30 p.m. near Delmar Elementary School. Sheriff's deputies say the bus was stopped at an intersection when a vehicle behind it rear-ended it.
Five students on the bus were taken to Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. Officials say their injuries are minor.
Police say the driver of the vehicle that hit the bus stepped on the gas pedal, incorrectly believing the bus was moving forward.
