Students Campaign For Lady Gaga To Visit Injured Perry Hall High Student
BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- The Perry Hall community is rallying behind shooting victim Daniel Borowy. Some are even trying to get Lady Gaga to visit him.
Derek Valcourt has more.
Seventeen-year-old special needs student Daniel Bowery's gunshot to the back may have him in the news headlines but it's his friendly personality that has him in his classmates' hearts and prayers.
"He was always smiling and giggling and saying hi to people," said one student.

"Always was nice. Never tried to pick problems and he didn't deserve it," said another.
He was so loved that "Pray for Daniel" is the mantra around school and on Facebook in a group called "Prayers for Daniel," where a family friend constantly updates Daniel's condition. But it's his love of music megastar Lady Gaga that's blowing up the Internet. In fact, Daniel is so gaga for Gaga that students are campaigning to have the pop superstar visit him in the hospital.
"Daniel likes Lady Gaga," said Jaime Holt.
Holt helped launch the Facebook page "Lady Gaga Please Visit Daniel." It already has well over 10,000 likes and is growing.
"Ultimately, let's hope Lady Gaga will get in touch with him in some way, even a Skype, a video, a Tweet that she acknowledges that we have all this support would be fantastic," Holt said.
On Twitter, the hash tag #GagaVisitDaniel is trending. There are dozens of new tweets every hour, all pleading for what friends say would be a morale boosting visit from the music icon.
"It's just something that he wants and we can make it happen after everything," said student Nina Manzo.
The Perry Hall Alumni Association is helping to raise money to help cover Daniel's medical bills. Click here for more information.
