Student Accused Of Making Fake Driver's Licenses
GREENBELT, Md. (AP) -- A student at the University of Maryland has been indicted on charges of producing and selling fake driver's licenses to people under the age of 21.
A federal grand jury returned the 16-count indictment against Theodore Michaels, 20, of Potomac on Monday.
The indictment alleges that from October to December 2009, Michaels and a conspirator produced and sold fake Virginia, Ohio and Pennsylvania driver's licenses. Prosecutors say Michaels got $100 to $170 for each license sold and that he and the conspirator produced the licenses in their dorm room.
