Strong 2nd Half Leads Holy Cross Over Navy 72-61
WORCESTER, Mass. (AP) -- Devin Brown scored 26 of his 32 points in the second half to lead Holy Cross in a 72-61 come-from-behind win over Navy on Wednesday night.
The Crusaders (6-19, 5-6 Patriot League) scored just four points off four turnovers in the first half, before scoring 19 off eight in the second. They committed just two turnovers of their own after halftime.
Trailing 32-25 at the break, Holy Cross scored the first nine points of the second half to lead for good, 43-32, on Andrew Keister's three-point play with 18:40 to go.
The Crusaders later led by three, 40-37, and scored eight straight to take an 11-point lead, 48-37, on Jordan Steven's jumper with 11:51 remaining.
Keister finished with 16 points and 13 rebounds for the Crusaders. Mike Cavataio chipped in 10 points and nine rebounds for Holy Cross.
Jordan Sugars and O.J. Avworo had 14 points each for Navy (9-18, 4-7).
