Power Being Restored After Storms In D.C. Area
WASHINGTON (AP) -- Power is being restored after storms battered the Washington region overnight.
As of 10:15 a.m., Pepco was reporting about 227 outages in Prince George's County and 157 outages in Washington. Another 76 outages were reported in Montgomery County. That's down from about 1,500 Pepco outages earlier Friday morning.
Baltimore Gas and Electric was reporting about 230 outages, most of them in the Baltimore area.
Dominion Virginia Power also says about 300 customers lack power in northern Virginia.
In Alexandria, a lightning strike caused a two-alarm fire at a home just after midnight. No one was injured, but the fire caused $300,000 in damage.
