Organizers announced Monday that a new organization called Facing Addiction will stage the rally on Oct. 4. The group plans to launch a campaign urging people to confront the nation's health problem of addiction to alcohol and other drugs.
John Rzeznik of the Goo Goo Dolls, The Fray, Loving Mary and Jason Isbell also have signed on to perform at the event.
Facing Addiction says health problems from addiction have an impact on tens of millions of households. The group says 22 million American suffer from substance use disorder, and more than 23 million others are in recovery.
