Steve Davis: Why I Believe Paterno Can't Coach This Weekend
I know Joe Paterno has said he will retire at the end of the year. Sorry. Not good enough. Joe Paterno can never step on the sidelines. He can't be in the stadium Saturday. Penn State can't run the risk that the crowd serenades Paterno one more time, that he gets to wave to the crowd, gets carried off by his players. No Way. No chance. You don't get to plot your own exit strategy, not after, at the very least, you neglected your responsibilities as an adult to look out for the well being of children. It's implicit in our right to be on earth. Kids can't look out for themselves, so adults do. You failed at that, so you don't get to coach again....ever!
