Steve Davis: What Can You Say About Ravens Win?
If you keep saying "I've never seen anything like that before!", it's true. You haven't. The Ravens win over the Vikings was in fact history making.
It was the first time the lead changed 6 times in the fourth quarter of a game, and the first time there were 5 touchdowns in the final 2:05.
It is hard to come up with the right commentary for the game.
For the first 3 quarters, the defense for the Ravens was outstanding, and the offense was non-existent. Then, in the final quarter, the defense stunk it up, missing tackles and blowing assignments, and nearly giving away the game. Yet, there was the offense to bail them out.
Flacco, who made some awful decisions for much of the game, flipped that "Flacco switch," and played amazing in the fourth. The 4th down play for the TD to Pitta, and then the winning TD to Brown were just gutsy plays, riddled with pressure. He will make you chew off your nails, and then take those same hands and high-five everyone in the room.
Joe must have amnesia, because he can forget anything that has happened, and carry his team to victory. One listener said it best. Flacco may not be elite, but he is clutch.
