Steve Davis: Must Win Time For Terps?
Some people are saying that (while I think it's a little too early for that statement) the Thursday night game is a pretty crucial game. The Terps have yet to beat a ranked team. It looks like they are an excellent team with tremendous talent.
Iowa comes in ranked 3rd and 4th in the two polls by writers and coaches. Maryland has had trouble putting together great games for a full 40 minutes with everyone stepping up. It's about time they show what they can really do. They have had too many games that could go either way, and it generally seems like too much offense has to go through Melo or they settle for jump shots. Plus, they need to be better on the boards.
I believe in Maryland, but I do think it's important to see them put together a total team effort to beat a Top 5 team so we can say if they are going to be a very good team or a great team.
