Steve Davis: Is Tiger Back?
Tiger finally got a win. After 30 weeks, 924 days, a fired coach and caddy, he is back in the win column. That said,I have been amazed at how many people are now saying Tiger is back now that he finally won a tournament.
Isn't that a tad premature? I have been on the record saying I don't think he'll ever be the same. I still don't. It's not just because he got caught being a total fraud. It's not just because I think he lost his air of being invincible. It's also because he's 36 and has had 4 knee operations. I don't think it's realistic to think that he won't continue to have health problems.
Add all those up, and I think it's unlikely that he will be as consistent as he once was. Will he win more tournaments and majors, I think so. Will he break Jack's record of 18 majors? I doubt it.
