WATCH: Steelers Kicker Attempts Worst Onside Kick of All Time
BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- In the final minute of the Ravens game yesterday, Pittsburgh Steelers kicker Chris Boswell may have kicked what is the worst onside kick in NFL history.
Boswell attempted what in soccer is known as a "rabona" — where the kicking leg is wrapped around the other leg before striking the ball.
Toni Fritsch successfully kicked one for the Cowboys during a playoff game back in the 1970s. Boswell has done the trick kick before in college, but this time it didn't work out quite as well.
This is what Boswell did...
And this is how it should be done...
Guffaws were heard from the Ravens fans and even the officiating crew couldn't stop smiling afterward.
The Los Angeles Rams had a similarly ineffective onside kick at the end of a 13-10 loss to the Carolina Panthers.
