Staten Island Death Ruled A Homicide; Essex Man Arrested
NEW YORK (AP) -- The death of a Staten Island man has been ruled a homicide.
The New York City medical examiner's office says Robert Jenkins, 68, died of asphyxia due to pressure on the face and neck and blunt impact injuries.
Police say the father of four was found unconscious at his home early Saturday morning. He was pronounced dead a short time later.
Late Saturday, police arrested Ronald Jones, 55, of Essex, Md., and charged him with assault and unlawful possession of marijuana.
It was not immediately clear if Jones had obtained a lawyer.
