State Police Issue Thousands Of Traffic Citations Over Holiday Weekend
PIKESVILLE, Md. (AP) -- Maryland State Police stopped more than 11,000 vehicles during stepped-up traffic enforcement over the Memorial Day weekend.
Troopers say Tuesday that more than 8,600 citations were issued. More than 100 drivers were charged with driving while impaired and nearly 200 people were arrested for criminal violations, most of them drug offenses.
State police will conduct additional initiatives during the summer, including checks for speeding or aggressive driving, and distracted driving.
