Spill Closes Section Of JFX In Baltimore
BALTIMORE (AP) -- A section of the Jones Falls Expressway in downtown Baltimore has been shut down after an unknown substance was spilled on the roadway.
Fire department spokesman Chief Kevin Cartwright says northbound Interstate 83 was closed between Fayette and Calvert streets Friday morning. Cartwright says about five gallons of an unknown substance was spilled in the road, making driving conditions unsafe, but there haven't been any accidents.
The Maryland Department of the Environment is responding to the scene to help determine what the substance is and assist in the cleanup.
