Southwest Suspended Operations Friday Morning To Check Software, Creates Delays For Passengers Out Of BWI
BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- A computer outage grounded Southwest flights across the country and at BWI Thurgood Marshall Airport for about 50 minutes early Friday morning.
The airline said its teams were working to ensure an overnight software update was working, however it created about a 40 minute delay for passengers, in an email to WJZ.
As of 6 a.m., BWI said it was back to normal operations, but some customers reported delays.
Southwest reports there were no cancellations related to the software update.
A winter weather system out West has cancelled 80 out of 4,000 flights for Southwest Friday, the ariline reports.
