Soldier Charged With Second Home Invasion Robbery
FRANKLINTOWN, Pa. (AP) -- A Maryland soldier already charged in a central Pennsylvania home invasion and assault of two 17-year-old boys now faces an attempted homicide charge connected to a second home invasion on the same night.
Pennsylvania State Police in York allege Rico Holmes III, 23, of Bethesda, Md., is one of several armed intruders who entered a Franklintown apartment on Dec. 8 and shot a man who had been sleeping inside. The man survived.
Holmes was previously arrested for a similar home invasion robbery in Franklin Township that occurred about an hour earlier as two teenage boys were watching television.
Holmes, who is active duty in the Army and was stationed at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, is charged with attempted homicide, burglary, aggravated assault and reckless endangerment.
