Soccer Stars Promote Cancer Awareness With Camps
BALTIMORE (AP) -- Italian soccer stars are coming to Baltimore to promote a cancer awareness program.
The Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center says Alessandro "Billy" Costacurta and Paulo Taveggia will be at the center on Tuesday to announce the Red Card Cancer partnership.
The partnership will promote cancer awareness through youth soccer camps. Johns Hopkins says one of the camps will be held July 17-19th at the Community College of Baltimore County in Essex with UMBC men's soccer Coach Pete Caringi.
A mini-clinic for pediatric patients and their families at Johns Hopkins Hospital will also be held following the announcement.
