Snow Possible Tuesday In Baltimore Metro Area

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Snow is expected to fall across the Baltimore metro region Tuesday morning.

As Meteorologist Chelsea Ingram reports, up to three inches of snow is possible, but it's more likely to be an inch or two. Areas north and west may see three inches or slightly over.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for the Baltimore metro region from 4 a.m. to 1 p.m. Flurries may began as early as 3 or 4 a.m.

Accumulations of one to two inches is expected -- possibly up to 3 inches in some areas. The heaviest snow is expected during morning rush hour, beginning at 6 a.m. until 11 a.m. Drivers are advised to be careful. The snow should taper off around lunchtime.

The snowfall comes as a part of a large area of low pressure moving into the region. The system will bring along with it a cold front that will keep temperatures low throughout the week.

Tuesday's high will be 32.

After the snow moves out, bitter cold will come in. Overnight lows will be in the single digits.
