Snow Falls In Western Maryland, I-70 Reopens
HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) -- The Washington County Sheriff's Office says a school bus is among the vehicles involved in accidents on snow-covered roadways in western Maryland.
The agency says the bus with 12 students aboard was hit by a passenger car on Hollow Road east of Hancock shortly before 7 a.m. Tuesday. No one was hurt.
The driver of the Toyota Yaris that hit the bus was charged with failing to control her speed to avoid a collision.
The dusting of snow was blamed for at least three accidents on Interstate 70 in Washington County. Eastbound lanes near Big Pool were closed for more than an hour.
Accidents were also reported on Interstate 81.
All Garrett County schools and some in Allegany County were closed due to wintry weather.
